Mrs Robertson and Miss Johnstone want to say thank you for giving them extra information about how we can best support your child in September. The parent phone calls have been really valuable to us!
We shall be also sending out another pack full of information for parents and a photo book for your child so that they can start to familiarise themselves with our school and staff.
This is certainly not the start that any of us would have wanted for your child, but please be reassured that we are working hard to ensure that everything will be in place to make their transition as smooth as possible.
May I start by welcoming you to Barwell Infant School; and by saying how pleased we are that you have chosen for your child to join our school family.
We know that starting school is an important milestone for children and parents; and, inevitably, there are always lots of questions about how the transition from pre-school to ‘big school’ will take place. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, we cannot share details of transition activities for the summer term, as we normally would.
We can, however, reassure you that we are working with the Local Authority and pre-school settings to ensure that we are in the best possible place to meet your child’s needs when they join us in September.

19/06/2020 - Get Ready for School Challenge!
The Go Learn! team have created a series of fun challenges for you to complete with your child to help prepare them for school.
By completing a series of 11 challenges, using free fun resources with your child at home, your child will receive a certificate to celebrate their readiness for school. They can then share this certificate with their teacher on their first day at school!
Download the flyer below and the example challenge to find out more details:
In previous years, we have been made aware that Barwell Infants Facebook pages have been created by individuals with no connection to our school.
Please be aware that our school does NOT have an official Facebook page, and we do not liaise or share resources or information on Facebook either.
We think it's nice when parents use social media to make connections when their child starts school. However, in the past some parents have been under the false impression that the Facebook sites that have approached them are run by our school. They are not.
We do not recommend these sites but, if you choose to join one, please be aware that it is not endorsed by our school, and we are not able to ensure that any images or information that you share about your family will be kept safe.
