15/05/2020 - Checking in with Year 2!

The government's focus on EYFS and Year 1 right now means that we are having to communicate with these families more at the moment.

All our families are important to us, so we will post any letters on here for Year 2 parents to read also.  We are also in the process of setting up a page on the website specifically to keep in touch with our Year 2 children.  See the tabs at the top of this page.

10/05/2020 - Government Announcement

This evening the government announced that it anticipates primary schools will be increasing the number of pupils attending from 1st June.

Sadly, as with the closure of schools, the government chose to inform school leaders and families at the same time.  Headteachers have received no further information or guidance than what was in the Prime Minister's speech.

This means that I am unable to answer your questions at this time; but please rest assured that I will continue to put the safety of our community and the wellbeing of our children above all other considerations.

Take care, Mrs Whittaker

27/04/2020 - Are you Entitled to Free School Meals?

Due to their age, all of the children at our school are entitled to "Universal Infant Free School Meals".

However, you may be entitled to additional Free School Meal benefits, if you meet the criteria.  During the COVID-19 crisis, this would entitle you to receive a £15 e-voucher each week to use at participating supermarkets.

Welcome to Barwell Infant School

On behalf of Barwell Infant School, I would like to welcome you to our school website where you will be able to find out about our happy, caring and successful school and the many opportunities that we have on offer for our children and families.

Our mission statement is simple: "Children First!"

We are committed to providing a high level of education for all of our children, giving them the best start in life that we can.  We aim to create an exciting, stimulating and safe environment; and to provide the children with a range of learning opportunities that will encourage the 'all round' development of each child - giving them foundations and skills for life.

We believe that everyone within our Barwell Infant School Family has a part to play to "Be the best that we can be!".  We work in partnership with parents and carers, and encourage their involvement in many aspects of school life.  This includes regular opportunities for you to find out about your child's education and progress, as well as joining us for fun events over the school year and opportunities for informal converstaions with the staff each day.

This website provides a flavour of life at Barwell Infant School.  We encourage families to come and visit us to find out more.  Please call our school office and speak to Mrs Bray to make an appointment, and we will be happy to show you around and answer any questions that you may have.

We look foward to meeting you and to you becoming part of our
