16/06/2020 - Help for Families
We have been asked by parents to make you aware of a FaceBook page that has been set up to help local families who are facing financial struggles at the moment.
The site is not connected to the school and we would remind you to always be cautious when sharing personal information with outsiders, but the aim of the site is to support families who may not be able to access the local Foodbank schemes.

02/05/2020 - Leicestershire Go Learn Family Pages
The Leicestershire Family Learning Team are keen to support and engage with families during the lockdown.
By clicking the link below, you can visit their website and find ideas for supporting your children and developing your own skills.
27/04/2020 - Are you Entitled to Free School Meals?
Due to their age, all of the children at our school are entitled to "Universal Infant Free School Meals".
However, you may be entitled to additional Free School Meal benefits, if you meet the criteria. During the COVID-19 crisis, this would entitle you to receive a £15 e-voucher each week to use at participating supermarkets.
Follow the link below to go to the Leicestershire County Council website, download the application form or contact LCC for more information.
24/03/2020 - Special Needs Support
Though most children are not in school at the minute, Miss Myler wants to reassure all SEN parents that she is continuing her work to support your children during the closure. She is actively liaising with other agencies to secure funding and support for children, and will contact your directly if she receives any updates about your child.
If you have any concerns about your child, or require support in completing forms or dealing with other agencies, please email Miss Myler at:
On behalf of Barwell Infant School, I would like to welcome you to our school website where you will be able to find out about our happy, caring and successful school and the many opportunities that we have on offer for our children and families.
Our mission statement is simple: "Children First!"
We are committed to providing a high level of education for all of our children, giving them the best start in life that we can. We aim to create an exciting, stimulating and safe environment; and to provide the children with a range of learning opportunities that will encourage the 'all round' development of each child - giving them foundations and skills for life.
We believe that everyone within our Barwell Infant School Family has a part to play to "Be the best that we can be!". We work in partnership with parents and carers, and encourage their involvement in many aspects of school life. This includes regular opportunities for you to find out about your child's education and progress, as well as joining us for fun events over the school year and opportunities for informal converstaions with the staff each day.
This website provides a flavour of life at Barwell Infant School. We encourage families to come and visit us to find out more. Please call our school office and speak to Mrs Bray to make an appointment, and we will be happy to show you around and answer any questions that you may have.
We look foward to meeting you and to you becoming part of our
"Brilliant Barwell Infant Family"
